Need help finding mattress for hot sleeper
Hi, I am currently looking to buy a mattress. I have always had back/hip problems and occasional neck/shoulder aches. I also tend to sleep on my side leaning onto my front. My partner sleeps in every position possible. He is just over 13st and 5ft 7". I am 5ft and just under 12st. We have been considering a Tempur mattress but after reading various comments on your website I am having second thoughts. I have only ever had one really comfortable mattress before and it was a Sealy Posturepedic and lasted more than 10 years. I have been told a pocket sprung mattress would be better for me. We are totally confused. There are so many brands on the market now. We were thinking of spending £700 - £1000. Not sure about Latex as it does not take much for my husband to start sweating. Help!!!!!
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated )
Hi Carol,
Thanks for your question.
Foams and latex are excellent for relieving pressure and moulding to the contours of ones body. That said memory and cheaper foams can get very hot. memory foam in particular relies on heat retention in order to move with your body.
All foams to some degree will be warmer than say a mattress-upholstery-fibre/" title="wool">wool mattress, but offer the support and moulding that natural materials can not. As such, you need to trade one off against the other.
Our Hybrid range of mattresses are the ones that we compare with Tempur. Our Foam range of mattresses are much cooler than Memory Foam mattresses but we can't guarantee that you won't overheat as this will depend on your sensitivity as everyone is different.
Our Fusion range of mattresses are 100% Natural Latex that give a cool sleep surface.
The coolest sleep surface that you can find, however, is natural fillings. Our Artisan range of products are traditional pocket sprung mattresses constructed using natural fillings. These fillings provide a cool sleep surface; Ideal for anyone who identifies as a hot sleeper.
I hope this has answered your questions fully but if you do have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419. Our office is open Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday and Sunday 10am to 4pm.
