Should I buy a display model mattress from John Lewis?

You will need a split tension to get the right support but the tension’s in the model mentioned are wrong with ourselves.

 

At your body weights you would need Soft for your wife and a Medium for yourself;

 

Bodyweight	Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg	Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards	Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call)	Soft (1.2mm)

 

However, that’s merely our guidelines and it will differ from retailer to retailer.

 

Where we struggle is that most retailers don’t disclose how they fully construct so we’re stuck when it comes to offering advice.

 

The John Lewis Naturals collection is in line with our Artisan range; Traditional pocket sprung mattresses constructed with natural fillings and those fillings provide a cool sleep surface.

 

With ourselves we say that it’s less about the spring count and more about the fillings as the fillings are what give you the comfort. As long as you have the right tension to support your weight you can’t really go wrong.
