Hi Clint,

Thank you for your question.   From what I can see both these mattress feature pillow tops which is something we don't recommend, as they are one-sided.  This can reduce the life of the mattress.

The Icon solutions 1200 features some form of pocket springs but theres little detail on the gauge or tension so I can't give any advice on the feel or quality of the springs. It is listed as a firm which would be the high density foam aspect. The Pillowtop layer is made of high density foam, found in sofas etc, again there is no density or hardness rating given. I would advise that you need to know these details to be able to compare or rate this mattress in terms of its components.

I can't find the prestige and so have looked at the nearest named model the Icon Solutions 2000 which again features unknown springs and gauges. It's classed as a medium so would assume its springs are medium tension.  It also features Viscoool which is a unique thermal regulating Visco Foam.  We have a page on hybrid foams to give you more information. I would advise that you need to know far more details than these two models provide online.  The main differences I can see are tension and the pillow top aspect.

Origins Pocket Latex 1500

The best one-sided mattress is one with latex as the comfort layer, like our Origins Pocket Latex 1500.  With latex being extremely durable and expensive it will rarely be on a double-sided mattress (unless it is one complete core like our Fusion range). Having a double-sided latex mattress (utilised on a springs/" title="pocket spring">pocket spring unit)  is relatively pointless as latex is amongst the most durable product available and it will be better to replace (in time) rather than extend.

If we can be of further assistance please do not hesitate to call the office.  Our office hours are 8 am - 8 pm Monday to Friday and 10 am - 4 pm Saturday and Sunday.

Kind Regards

Michaela
