A customer asked

Hi Myself and my girlfriend have now had a Silentnight Mirapocket Premium Mattress for 8 weeks.

Is it normal when sleeping on the edges for you to be feeling like you are falling back into the middle.

Within 8 weeks there is already a dip in the middle, I weigh 13 stone and my girlfriend between 9 and 10.

We are within the 40 night comfort guarantee but this comes with a fee.

Is a dip this quickly normal when we have followed the guidelines for turning the mattress.

The bed is a half Ottoman,

Hi Ben,

Thanks for your question.

It is not possible for us to provide an opinion on a mattress other than our own brand.

However, the first thing that we would advise you to do is note what advice was provided at the point of sale by the seller, i.e. did you provide body weight details and preferred feel?

If you have complied with the instructions provided with your mattress and still find you have an issue with rolling together and dipping, then you must raise this with the supplier as soon as possible under the terms of any sort of guarantee.

You will also need to establish what the tolerance is for dips in your particular mattress; The industry tolerance is a dip up to 1.5". Anything outside of this is classed as unnatural and would normally be covered under any sort of warranty. Please see the article here for further information on mattress settlement and dips.

I hope that this helps but if you have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards, John and Ryan.
