Hello.
I am a 20 stone side sleeper with lower back pain.
I was wondering what you would recommend for me.
Thanks

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your question.

Side sleepers need to avoid anything too firm in the top layers as this will only cause pressure point pains in places such as shoulders, hips and knees. We would always advise that you need to go for something more medium in that top layer providing a slight sink but not too much.

At your body weight there are 2 ranges you can look at; Our Artisan range and our Resilience range.

The Artisan range is a range of traditional pocket sprung mattresses constructed with natural fillings. Natural fillings are what provide a cool sleep surface so ideal for anyone who identifies as a hot sleeper. Within this range you would need a Firm spring tension to get the right level of support. A Firm spring will support weights between 17 and 23st.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

In the Artisan range I'd advise having a look at the Artisan Naturals or Bespoke 004. Both are true mediums in the upholstery with the only difference being that the Naturals is constructed with 85% natural fillings and the Bespoke 004 is constructed with a full 100% natural fillings.

Our Resilience range is designed for the heavier sleeper and will support body weights between 18 and 30st. These mattresses have a foam core mattress and then completely detachable toppers. The Resilience 1 has a Laygel topper whereas the Resilience 2 has our Latex topper. The Resilience 2 is the firmer feeling of the 2 models due to Latex being quite a firm material overall.

I hope this has answered your questions fully but if you do have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards, Lee.
