Memory foam mattress is too hot for us

Hi, My wife and I have been looking for a new mattress for ages, we both want a soft mattress as we both tend to sleep on our sides and often wake up with aching shoulders!
We have tried a memory foam mattress and found that it made us too hot!
We weigh 12.5st and 8.5st and would like a double mattress around the £500 mark, what could you suggest for us?

Hi Darren and Ana,
Thank you for your enquiry. We would not recommend anything too firm in the comfort layers for side sleepers as this can cause pressure pains in the shoulders, hips and knees.
Memory foam requires body heat to be able to mould to your body. It is very heat retentive and feeds this heat back to the sleeper making some people very hot throughout the night.
Given your body weights, comfort preference and budget I would recommend you have a look at our Origins Comfort 1000. This has the softest comfort layers in this range and will be supportive with its medium spring tension.
