Which mattress for sports recovery
Hello,
The long story short is that i play contact sports and undertake weight training, therefore come night time, i like to sleep on something that will make my body feel 'weightless'.
I tend to sleep on my side, my weight is currently 82kg, sometimes 85kg and im 5'9".
My current mattress is around 8 years old, from Dreams and is a 1400 springs/" title="pocket spring">pocket spring latex topped one.
Thanks
Hi James,
Thank you for your enquiry.
The first thing to say is that there is no mattress made specifically to aid recovery from sports.
Our mattresses are made to suit different requirements and we use body weight, preferred feel, budget and any specific way of sleeping (i.e. side sleeper) to match the customer to the most appropriate product. By doing this, if we get it right, you ought to get restful sleep, which in itself will aid recovery from sport.
Given your body weight, we would recommend a medium spring tension mattress as this will provide the right support;
Bodyweight | Spring tension |
---|---|
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg | Medium (1.4mm) |
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards | Firm (1.6mm) |
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) | Soft (1.2mm) |
Then looking at your preferred feel and side sleeping, we would suggest that softer upholstery is likely to suit.
Please view the Origins Comfort 1000, which has man made upholstery combined with a standard medium tension spring.
Alternatively, if your budget permits, please view the Artisan Luxury, which can have the spring tension selected as soft, medium or firm and has luxurious softer upholstery layers to make you feel enveloped.
There are some latex mattresses in our Fusion range, which you may also find of interest, as that is what you have at present.
We trust that this is of assistance to you but if you require any further advice or guidance please call our office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind Regards, John and Ryan.
