Difference between Artisan Bespoke 002 & 004 mattresses
I called yourself for advice and was told to try Visprung mattresses which I did only to find yours is a different product. Presently sleeping on medium mattress on slated frame which was fine until a year ago when I found every morning when I got up my back hurt. On rotating mattress the pain diminished so realise a new mattress is needed. I'm 9 stone and 5'6, husband 14.5 stone and 6'2. Side sleeper with niggling hip. Friend recommended bespoke medium 02/04 but not sure what's best for me. Can you help?
Hi Claire,
Thanks for your question.
We only retail our own products but our Artisan range has a similar feel to the Vi-Spring, which is more than likely why you were advised to try some of their models.
At your body weights I would match you both with a Medium spring tension to get the correct support. However, you are just coming out of a Soft spring so if you prefer a bit more give in the support choose the Soft spring;
Bodyweight | Spring tension |
---|---|
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg | Medium (1.4mm) |
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards | Firm (1.6mm) |
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) | Soft (1.2mm) |
Side sleepers should be avoiding anything too firm in the top layers otherwise this will only exacerbate those pains.
The Artisan Bespoke 002 and Bespoke 004 both have a medium upholstery giving a slight sink but not too much. The predominant difference is that the Bespoke 002 is constructed with a dual layered spring system that gives the mattress quite a springy and bouncy feel. This can be quite an acquired taste so we would advise testing the VI-Spring Tiara when looking at this model to get a similar feel. Similarly, the Bespoke 004 compares to the Vi-Spring Regal Superb.
These mattresses are fine to go on to your slatted base as long as the gaps between the slats are no bigger than 3". If they are then all you need to do is board the base with some standard sheets of MDF, plywood or pegboard.
I hope this helps but if you have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind Regards, Lee.
