Was the Vi-Spring Imperial Bedstead mattress comfortable for you when you first got it? The upholstery layers in this mattress, which is similar to our Artisan Naturals, has medium comfort layers.

I am assuming that the soft you mention is the tension of the springs. At your body weight a medium spring is the correct spring tension for yourself. If it was not comfortable, was it too soft or too firm? This would help to determine if going for a firmer mattress would be of any benefit to you.  If you are a side sleeper then a firmer mattress may cause pressure pains in your shoulders, hips or knees.

Have you been able to turn this mattress? Turning and rotating a new mattress helps to even out the natural settlement of the upholstery layers as does utilising the whole sleep surface.  When you turn the mattress over you are essentially ironing the underside and this should be done once a month for the first year with any new mattress and then every 3 months thereafter to properly maintain your mattress.
