I have a 15 year old pocket spring Silentnight firm mattress on my adjustable slatted bed base. I find the mattress too firm and require to find something more suitable for my creaky joints. I have tried out a wool topper and padded mattress protector combination with limited improvement. I am 5' 2" tall, weigh 9 stone, sleep on my front and do not like memory foam or similar. The internal measurements of the base are 63.5" X 78.8" I plan to use your mdf boards solution to modify the base. I have a Restus Cashmere medium mattress on the spare bed, which I find very comfortable. Please advise.

Hi Deirdre,

Thank you for your enquiry.

We do not recommend our pocket sprung mattresses for use on adjustable beds as the movement tends to damage the internal spring unit over time. What you require is a foam or latex mattress, which will move with the adjustable mechanism and would be better suited to your needs. We do have a latex mattress that would meet your requirements and that is the Fusion 5. This mattress will provide a medium feel for your body weight and has the same same consistency as memory foam, but is much cooler. The size you require is what is known as Euro king and as such, would need to be made by using a super king size piece cut to match your measurements.

If you are not minded to opt for the Fusion 5, then you may need to seek a specialist manufacturer, who may be able to supply a pocket sprung product to suit. I trust that this helps, kind regards.
