No, and no showroom or retailer sells our products. This is part of the reason why our prices can be so competitive: our internet-based company model allows us to avoid passing the excessive costs of other retailers on to our customers. Most staff within showrooms are also not bed experts (unlike our own in-house team). Sadly, such staff probably wouldn’t understand mattress manufacture to the extent that they could reliably answer your questions. Our team will be able to guide you to the right product for you and your budget. We grade the products in our warehouse and the grading is decided based on the condition of the product upon return. All mattresses are Grade B or C. At this stage we cannot give you the history of each product or the very specifics of where any marks may be located so if this is important for you to know then a clearance bed may not be for you and you can choose your mattress in the normal way. We do however guarantee that the condition will be no worse than described below and in most cases is actually better!

The mattress quality and comfort is amazing, right from the first night – likewise the customer service and delivery.
Our old mattress as still comfortable though aging so we were quite concerned about finding something just as good. Artisan Vegan Latex Mattress
After a lot of research for non-toxic and vegan mattress, I bought two Artisan Vegan Latex mattress and couldn’t have been more pleased to find 100% plant based and natural mattress that is so good to sleep on and my guests agree as well. Upholstery is luxurious and stitching are very neat. Being a two sided mattress, this will hopefully prolong the mattress life. Customer service (Julie) was very helpful and on top of things from start to finish and was able to accommodate a quick delivery. Julie also provided useful information about the proper bed slat to use. The delivery was seamless and the mattresses were packed properly.

I would give this 10 out of 10 if not for one teeny, but important factor.
Firstly, the call I had initially with Julie was very informative. This helped pare down the choices, and ultimately made the final one!
They followed with another call after I placed the order to ensure it was the correct size etc, and to tell me next steps. I.e. delivery.
Deliver guys are superb. Bang on time, quick, efficient and polite.
Then left mattress to air for 2 days, and slept on it. First few nights I thought it was a wee bit hard, (and I do mean ‘wee’), but I read the instructions, and gave mattress and body time to adjust.
Now? One of the best mattresses I’ve slept on.
So, what’s the teeny issue for slightly less than 10/10?
No follow up with me to see what the mattress feels like. Would have been nice, and I assumed that this company would do so, being proud of their mattresses and customer service?
I’d still highly recommend them to everyone.
Just a suggestion, constructive criticism, when clients are spending a significant amount on your products, after they have had them for a bit, a quick call, email, to check up on them would be a true A*** service.

The best vegan mattress in the UK
I spent a lot of time researching vegan mattresses and JR is the only company in the UK that is making a truly vegan and high quality mattress. Service at JR is very good from telephone advice, to ordering and through to delivery. The mattress is beautifully made and of very high quality. Although I am used to a soft mattress, I am finding the medium very comfortable and good for my back. I highly recommend the vegan mattress for anyone who doesn’t want to sleep on wool and horse hair, or on a mattress containing glue which may contain animal-derived ingredients.

We have had this mattress a few weeks…
We have had this mattress a few weeks and really love it. In the past we have had foam mattresses which make us too hot and smell of synthetic horrid smells which make it hard to breathe, or have had spring and wool and I am allergic to wool. The quality of this build and the natural use of latex means the mattress is comfortable like other spring mattresses but without the need for wool and the latex has a mild pleasant vanilla smell which went after a day of breathing. The quality of the springs and firmness works for both a big man and a petite wife. We are really happy and are sleeping well for the first time in years. A great product at a great price. The makers should be proud, well done. We will certainly replace all the mattresses in our house with this make.

Special mention to the advice given as to choice of mattress – the lady helped us and even advised on the cheaper model (we would have happily spent more if it had been ‘right’ for us). I had looked at a lot of other websites for info and prices for a new mattress, but after speaking to the advisor at John Ryan I felt very confident that I was going to get the most suitable one for us. I had thought we needed a firm mattress but we were advised to get a medium one, which was the right decision! Delivery was very professional and charming! The whole process went smoothly. We have had it for about a month now and are still very happy with our decision to go with John Ryan.

Excellent service and a knowledgable and friendly team. Kept us informed at all times. Delivered by a helpful team who took away all unwanted packaging. Mattress is wonderful, we have tried quite a few different types over the past couple of years trying to find the perfect one for us and I believe we have found it with our John Ryan vegan mattress. Being a vegan for many years there are many companies cashing in on people’s wish for all things vegan and many products are expensive and poor quality. I am more than happy to say this is not the case with this super quality John Ryan mattress, it truly is such a good product. We are at long last well slept and extremely grateful to have found such luxury in a cruelty free item. Thank you John Ryan.

Artisan Latex Mattress – Medium
Having done a lot of research for an ethical, chemical, animal free mattress we ordered the Artisan Latex super king mattress. Investing in such a mattress for quality of sleep, comfort and quality was a big step for us to order on line without being able to see and feel. Received great customer service when I called for advice and to find out more.
The mattress arrived before the estimated time and well packaged. When peeling back the packaging – wow beautifully well made, and absolutely no nasty or chemical smells whatsoever. Does it have a smell? I would describe it as a very faint oat smell – that would be the material.
Slept so well the first night, and we both continue to do so. So happy we ordered this mattress, it’s so comfortable. I had a memory foam one beforehand but made me too hot (my age!) … not with the Artisan.

Fantastic products and amazing service!
We were so excited for our new bed to arrive after sleeping on one that was practically falling to pieces for five years. We decided to go with the mattress that is completely vegan for a whole number of reasons, and we are very impressed. It is so comfortable and incredibly high quality. We love the base, the drawers, the headboard and the colour. The price is very reasonable for what you get as well. We would also like to say a big thank you to the two delivery men. They came all the way to Kent from Manchester and were much more cheery than I would have been after that drive! It was difficult to get the mattress up our stairs, and they were very careful with the mattress itself. They persevered and managed to get it up to our bedroom. Thank you John Ryan for your amazing products and service!
