Given the knowledge that I now have I absolutely would not buy a mattress from the normal conventional shops ever again. For what I paid is far better value for any comparable product. Overall a good company to deal with A lot of info about buying the right mattress is given on their website so just this alone was very helpful before making a decision on ordering. The experience of speaking to someone on the phone to get advice was also good and probably better than experiences I’ve had in the past with sales people in local stores. Clear communication throughout ordering and delivery as well so overall a good experience.

Artisan Luxury Emperor Bespoke 2000 x 2000 Had John Ryan manufacture my bespoke size bed supplied with sprung divan base. Incredibly after 8 years on, It still feels and performs as new. I am so impressed that I am going to purchase another for my second home. Quality of the materials and their manufacturing methods have stood the test of time. Extremely comfortable and the best 8 years of sleep ever.

Would highly recommend buying a mattress from John Ryan, not only were the information videos very helpful but also the staff, when I phoned with a query. Artisan Luxury Zip and Link Lovely beds
We’ve had our Super King Zip and Link for just over 2 months now and are very happy with it. We chose the Artisan Luxury on advice because I like a soft/medium bed and this provides it. Its comfortable .We’d had our previous bed 25 years and I was apprehensive about changing. Service from John Ryan has been excellent. Lots of advice if you need it to help you choose. I do think their Artisan Luxury range is good value for money when comparing what is available from other manufactures. Our beds look and feel quality.

After our previous mattress from another company had come to the stage of being very uncomfortable, I spent quite a while reading reviews and comments across the internet for suggestion and experiences.

John Ryan by Design came highly recommended in many places and by many people.

Our main issue was with the firmness of our current mattress after sagging so were looking for a soft mattress, and preferably not another memory foam mattress.

We chose the softest in the range, the Artisan Luxury. I was concerned it may be too soft, but we felt confident with the 60 day guarantee that if it were too soft we could exchange. The materials and quality looked excellent on the website.

When it arrived I was surprised as it was a lot firmer than I anticipated. This could be due to us having a solid base rather than a sprung divan.

We tried persisting with the mattress but sadly our bodies did not adjust and we were not finding it comfortable.

There was no issue with arranging a return, it was handled quickly and with no difficulty.

I can honestly say dealing with John Ryan by Design has been one of the best experiences with buying online. The service before purchasing was excellent, with Gary answering my questions, and on ordering a call to confirm the purchase details and check it was suitable for us.

The quality of the mattress was very high, and the handling of the return was faultless.

I can highly recommend their product and the company.

We were a little sceptical of spending such a lot of money on-line without even seeing the mattress. The John Ryan help line is indeed helpful, and the website contains a good deal of useful and interesting information though naturally enough it is loaded towards their own products. The lengthy unconditional returns period eventually swayed us and we bought an Artisan Luxury mattress.

We needn’t have worried. The mattress is all they claimed and we have easily become accustomed to it. It is both soft and supportive and seems well made though only time will tell. After only a week there are noticeable indentations where we lie but again time will tell whether this becomes an issue and there is a good guarantee after the cooling off period. There have been occasional reviews slating delivery problems, however the John Ryan van arrived when they said they would, the delivery men offered to remove their shoes, they delivered the heavy mattress right to our bedframe with no damage and took away both the packaging and our old equally heavy mattress. No fuss, no muss as they say. Full marks.

edited November 2021 After 2 and a half years the mattress is wearing very well with only very minor indentations (I’m over 16 stones) and no damage whatever. Very pleased.

The mattress is amazing! We’d succumbed to the marketing of another major brand (think The Lion King) and not had a great experience. The John Ryan mattress gave the best night’s sleep in ages. Great customer service, delivered on time and great product.

Sooooooooooo Comfortable
I would like to thank Jonathan for all the help and assistance with the queries that I had with regards purchasing our mattress. In the end decided on the Artisan Luxury which we are very pleased with, we are waking relaxed and refreshed as neither of us are suffering from back ache anymore.

Excellent customer service both in ordering, advice and support and delivery including communication. My new artisan luxury mattress arrived earlier than forecast which was great – the product is great – a little pricey but worth every penny – will definitely recommend and shop there again!

Wonderfully comfortable bed that has hugely helped my pain levels.
After a very bad experience with advisors from John Lewis resulting in a bed that escalated my pain levels to intolerable, we fought for a refund and turned to John Ryan. If we had only done our research first and found them before going to John Lewis again!

The advisors at John Ryan listened to all I had to say about my health issues and what I wanted, then guided us towards the best bed for me. And it is! The Artisan Luxury mattress with sprung base is simply wonderful. I have less pain now and going to bed is no longer dreaded, as it was before.

The mattress is beautifully made, the base and head board are too. We are extremely happy with every aspect of the bed and the service from the team at the office. The delivery team were efficient, friendly and kind.

After previous expensive firm mattress being too soft and giving us back ache we got one from John Ryan it’s bloody amazing comfortable like a cloud but supportive my 100 American bulldog also approves!!! Well made and in the UK also fit round a really tight corner. Would never, ever buy a mattress from anyone else or let anyone in my family …

Beware!
Very difficult to get out of in the morning, it’s so comfortable.
We have had this bed for approximately 5 months.
Superbly comfortable, very well made it seems, and the delivery was a pain free experience.
We got the zip link which makes it quite easy for us to turn the mattres’s and also reduces disturbance when your partner moves around or get’s out of bed.
Highly recommended.
