Relyon backcare and Sealy Posturepedic
Thanks for your answer on the relyon backcare royal. I am 8 stone and my partner is 13 stone, I tend to sleep on my side. I have been told i should get a soft mattress??
however i suffer from a lot of lower back pain and neck pain at night but i am assuming that this is because my mattress is past it. Perhaps you could tell me what you think about weight being a factor in choosing the tension of a mattress (a lady at furmiture village told me this) I am also looking for a pocket sprung mattress and trying to stay away from memory foam as both myself and my partner find it very hot at night, ( i have tried a mattress topper to prolong the life of our mattress) I have also tried a sealy posturepedic mattress that was nice if not a little firm but i am very confused!!
I am trying also to keep to a budget of about 400 pounds. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi again Nicola.
Plaudits to the lady at Furniture Village.
Bodyweight is absolutely crucial to the correct choice of mattress.
For your bodyweight at 8st you will not be utilising the spring unit to its fullest at all.
Bodyweight | Spring tension |
---|---|
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg | Medium (1.4mm) |
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards | Firm (1.6mm) |
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) | Soft (1.2mm) |
Therefore, a 1000 pocket sprung unit may be entirely suitable.
However, the mattress will also have to suport the 13st of your partner making what you may perceive as medium to firm support - he/she will perceive as soft to medium.
As way of initial recommendation and taking into account your budget I would suggest the Origins Pocket 1500 mattress in our range.
A bit higher than your current budget but at least you will both have adequate support and with the use of a comforter [mainly for you] or indeed the topper you currently have will ensure you both sleep quite comfortly.
Kind Regards Gary
