Mattress for son at 14 stone

Hello Could you recommend a matress for my older teenage son, he a heavy lad at about 14 stone and about 5 foot 6 he has a wooden frame bed single at the moment, He has a silent night miracoil matress of approx 2 and a half years, some of the coils have snapped and are coming throught the foam topper.could you recommend something that would last a bit longer, medium firm.

Thank you for your enquiry on our website. I personally would not be inclined to overspend on teenage boys beds. The crucial part of your purchase is longevity and so maximum protection will be key. Another thing to note is that The Origins Pocket Reflex 1000 is a two-sided mattress. Placing this directly onto the slats will cause indentations to the underside upholstery. This will cause a lumpy feel to the mattress. A sheet of foam or old duvet will add the cushioning required. If the space between the slats is greater than 3 inches we would recommend boarding them over with a cheap piece of MDF or Plywood to prevent damage to the mattress.
