Which tension should I choose?

A customer asked

We are currently looking to replace our memory foam mattress as it is not supportive anymore and is too hot for us. We are interested in your Artisan Bespoke 002 Superkingsize mattress. Your site is very informative but we are still struggling to decide which level of firmness to choose. I am 6'0" and 18 st while my wife is 5'5" and 11 st. We had a try at the Hypnos Mozart mattress medium firm and it felt comfortable for the 2 minutes we lay on it. Not enough time. We would be putting the mattress on a hard surface. Could you please advise?

thank you. .

Hi Hughes,

Thanks for your question.

At your body weights you would be matched with a dual tension mattress; One half a Firm spring tension for you and the other half a Medium spring tension for your wife.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

The Artisan Bespoke 002 is constructed with a dual layered spring system that in turn gives the mattress a quite bouncy and springy sensation. It also compares in feel to the Vi-Spring Tiara that you can find in stores such as Furniture Village, Harrods, House of Fraser or And So To Bed.

Any mattress going on to a solid top surface will be given a slightly firmer feel overall as the spring tension is firmed up.

I hope this has answered your questions fully but if you do have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards, Lee.
