Hi Helen,

Thank you for your enquiry. All of our pocket sprung mattresses are suitable for a slatted base. If the space between the slats is greater than 3 inches we would recommend that you board over the slats with MDF or Plywood to give the mattress a uniform surface. If the space is less than 3 inches then an old or cheap duvet will protect the underside of the mattress.

Determining which of our mattresses would be most suitable for your individual needs is based on a number of factors. We would need to know what your current mattress is, was it too firm before you put it on the slatted base and what the comfort layers were described as. Your comfort preferences also play a big part in deciding which mattress would be the most suitable as well as your sleeping habits.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

The spring tension is designed to give the correct level of support and is determined solely by an individuals body weight.

I hope this is helpful and if you would like any further information or would like to discuss your individual needs please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards
Michaela
