Advice about a new mattress for sleep Apnoea
I am 15 stone, have sleep apnoea, and a back issue. I have a king size frame with a slatted base. Current mattress old and awful conventional spring type. I am looking at springs/” title=”pocket spring”>pocket spring as a replacement. Is this a reasonable decision? Your advice and suggestion would be appreciated.

I am able to provide a recommendation in respect of a product that will suit your body weight and provide possible respite from your back issue, however, no mattress will fully resolve the problem of sleep apnoea and so I suppose two out of three isn’t bad. We always recommend going to see a doctor about solutions for sleep apnoea such as CPAP machines or mandibular dental devices.
Your body weight dictates that you would be best suited to a medium spring tension and dependent upon budget, there are a couple of products I would suggest you look at. Firstly, there is the Origins Pocket 1500, which comes as a standard medium feel and has synthetic upholstery layers.

Secondly and if your budget permits, there is the Artisan Naturals which has a selective spring tension, soft, medium or firm and has 85% natural upholstery layers. Natural fibres will provide a cooler sleep surface than synthetic fibres.
