Would a split tension bed or zip & link bed be best?

Linda Winton asked
21st March 2016

My husband and I currently sleep in a firm orothpedic bed which is too hard for me and great for him. I have had broken vertebrae due to cancer which have healed but give mild to considerable bone pain, my husband has occasional back problems due to physical job and prefers a firm bed, I prefer the a softer /medium feel you get from hotel beds.we wiegh 13 st and 14 st. What is best, a full bed with dual tension or a zip link option, what are the pros and con of each? Do both options come with a try or return option? Can you advise which bed would best suit our needs?
Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Linda,

Your body weights actually dictate that a medium tension would be appropriate, however, I note that your husband prefers a firmer feel, so perhaps a split tension of medium and firm might be best. Split tension mattresses of this type are only available in our Artisan range (natural upholstery layers) in king size and above and can be made in a one piece or zip and link set.

There is no difference in the actual feel of the mattresses, whether one piece or zip and link. Zip and link sets are normally supplied where access is an issue, the purchaser might struggle turning and rotating a one piece or the split is say soft and firm. All our products come with the 60 day “love it or return it” guarantee. This should not be viewed as a try before you buy option as we endeavour to match the customer to the mattress and in 96% of instances, we get this spot on. This is why we are confident to offer this guarantee.

Please view the Artisan Naturals, Artisan Bespoke 004 or the Artisan Bespoke . In addition, if your budget is limited, please view the Origins Pocket 1500, which can be made in a zip and link set only with one half having 1500 springs and the other half having 2000 springs, making it firmer. Once you have viewed these products, please call our office for more detailed advice as to suitability. I trust that this helps.
