TAKE OUR MATTRESS QUIZ

Our mattress feels firmer than the one in the shop?

Could you please give me a price for a sprung edge divan base that would be suitable for a Harrison mattress . The mattress I have is a Trebah with 8200 springs in it. At the present time we have it on a Nolte sprung slatted base and are finding it quite uncomfortable, although in the shop on the divan base it did not feel as firm. Please could you advise me if the base could be the cause of the problem. Please could you give me a price for 2 Drawers and also without, for a King size. Thank you very much. Gill Atkinson

Hi Gill,

Thank you for your enquiry. A sprung base will soften the overall feel of a mattress. The mattress you have is paired with a platform base, this would give you the true feel of the mattress. Your sprung slatted base would only soften the mattress very slightly.

A new mattress will always feel firmer than the one tried in a showroom. The mattress you tried could have been in the showroom for quite some time with many potential customers trying the mattress. This would have softened down the upholstery layers. When a mattress is made, all the upholstery layers are compacted together and it can take a good few months for them to soften fully.

Our Artisan base has two spring options. The Bonnell coil, which is a continuous spring and Pocket springs which are individually pocketed and stitched together.  The price for the base with the Bonnell Coil is £545 with 2 drawers and £485 without drawers. The price for the pocket spring option is £605 with 2 drawers and £545 without drawers.

I hope this is helpful and if you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards
Michaela
