TAKE OUR MATTRESS QUIZ

Mattress size and choice

Mandy asked

Hi guys. Need help please. I need a new mattress my husband and I are rolling into middle of our sinkhole mattress. Definitely past its sell by date – husband that is. I have now reached a lovely age where my own temperature gauge is up and down like a yo yo. I do not want a latex or memory foam mattress. I overheat when I sleep. I would prefer natural fibers. Medium firm . – so I have measured my bed frame and it looks like it’s 208cm length and width is 153cm -5ft? Is this a king size ???? What do you recommend please.

Hi Mandy,

I am sorry to hear of your current mattress woes. The sizes you quote are correct in width for a king size, however, the length is 4 inches longer than the standard 6ft 6 inches for that size. Having said that a standard king size will fit and allow some leeway for tucking in the bedding etc.

Mattress SizeDimensions
Small Single 2’ 6” x 6’3” (80cm x 190cm)
Single 3′ x 6’3″ (90cm x 190cm)
Small Double 4″ x 6’3 (120cm x 190cm)
Double 4’6″ x 6’3″ (135cm x 190cm)
Continental Double 4’7” x 6’6” (140cm x 200cm)
King 5′ x 6’6″ (150cm x 200cm)
Continental King 5’3″ x 6’6″ (160cm x 200cm)
Extra King 6’0 x 6’3 (182cm x 190cm)
Super King 6′ x 6’6″ (180cm x 200cm)

As far a recommendation is concerned, I am not able to be specific at this stage without knowledge of your body weights, preferred feel and budget. Only the mattresses in our Artisan range contain natural fibres in the upholstery and I would suggest that you view those products online and then call our office for more specific advice as to the suitability of one of those products for you.
