Which pocket spring mattress is best for me.

The main consideration when advising upon the most appropriate mattress is the body weight(s) of the people who are going to use it. In your particular case, a medium spring tension is ideal and will provide the correct level of support.

Please view the Origins Pocket 1500, which has a standard medium tension spring unit together with man-made upholstery providing an overall medium feel.

In terms of how many pocket springs you need there’s a whole marketing ploy from retailers to try and out compete each other with spring counts. Watch our video below that explains how many spring you need to look for when choosing a new mattress.

If you prefer natural upholstery, please view the Artisan Naturals or Artisan Bespoke 004, both which can have the spring tension selected to suit and both of which have natural upholstery, 85% in the Naturals and 100% in the 004. These mattresses will provide the same overall feel in the upholstery. The Artisan Naturals and Origins Pocket 1500 are the best selling products in their respective ranges as detailed at the foot of this response.

We do not make or sell slatted bed bases and if it is your intention to use any of the above products on such a base, we would advocate placing some form of barrier, usually thin (3-5mm) MDF over the slats to provide the mattress with a uniform surface upon which to sit and prevent ridging occurring as a result of the mattress dipping into the gaps between the slats.
